|
|
I notice a lot of ads in the papers there days for DVD recorders. Does anyone have any experience with these in conjuction with a Rogers PVR?
Specifically, I am wondering if I can copy a recording on my PVR onto a DVD disc. Has anyone done this, and are there problems or concerns?
Secondly.. Originally when I got my Rogers PVR, I opted to rent rather that buy, in the hopes that they would eventually offer a PVR with a DVD recorder built in. I don't believe they are yet offering such a unit.
Now I see in the papers, vendors like Future Shop are offering DVD recorders with 250 GB Hard Drives.. are these units a replacement for the Rogers PVRs? If so, can they directly replace the PVR, and retain the same functionality as the PVR? I know Rogers communicates with the PVR to download program scheules, etc.. if I buy one of these units, will it work seamlessly with the Rogers network? |

Cant help you with your question directly - but there are plenty of websites that will tell you how to pull the HD out of a PVR unit, and hook it into your computer and pull the files off...
Personally, I have a Satellite (I gave up on Rogers cable service)... and my HD PVR unit has a USB port on it that I've been trying to find out if I can use that to pull data off....
Failing that, there's always something like Dazzle that allows you to pick up the Left/Right/Video feed, and capture it to your computer... then you can master it to DVD using any of the widely available tools. _________________ Webmaster,
